About us

Grenada's easygoing scooter rental

We're a small, family-run team that knows Grenada well, and we love helping visitors see the island on two wheels.

Our story

Family-run, and here for the long ride

Island Ride started in 2016 on Deponthieu Street in St. George's, and we've been renting scooters to visitors and locals ever since. More than 10 years on, we're still a family business that treats every rider like a guest.

Every scooter is serviced and cared for, so you can set off with confidence. There's no online payment and nothing to wire in advance. You book, you arrive, we hand you the keys, and you pay in person by cash or card.

Island Ride is a registered operator with the Grenada Tourism Authority, and every scooter carries comprehensive insurance.

Most of all, we know the island. Ask us about the best beaches, the prettiest coast roads, or where to stop for lunch. Helping you explore is the part we enjoy most.

A standard car licence is generally accepted. If you need a local temporary permit, we'll help you arrange one.

  • Minimum age 18

You'll need to be at least 18 years old to hire and ride one of our scooters.

  • A refundable deposit

We take a refundable deposit and a photo ID at pickup. You get the deposit back when you return the scooter.

Two DOT-approved helmets and a fitted phone mount come with every rental at no extra cost. Every scooter is fully insured, too.

Ride safe

A few notes for riding in Grenada

A little local know-how to keep every ride an easy one.

  • Keep left

In Grenada you ride on the left-hand side of the road, so take a moment to settle in before you set off.

  • Always wear your helmet

Two come with every scooter. Wear one on every ride, however short.

  • Mind the weather

Watch for changing road conditions and sudden island rain, and slow right down when it's wet.

  • Ride sober, ride easy

Never ride under the influence, and take the hills and bends gently. There's no rush here.
