Who we are

Island Ride is a scooter rental business operating in Grenada. We are the data controller responsible for the personal information you provide to us when you make a booking or get in touch. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

When you request a booking, we collect only what we need to arrange your rental:

  • Your name
  • Your home or holiday address
  • Your phone number
  • Your email address
  • An identification number (for example, a passport or driver's licence number)
  • Your rental dates
  • Your chosen drop-off location

We do not collect or store any card or payment details, because payment is taken in person when you pick up your scooter.

Why we collect it

We use the information above to:

  • Process and confirm your booking
  • Contact you about your rental
  • Verify your identity and your eligibility to rent (this is the purpose of the ID number)
  • Prepare your rental agreement
  • Meet our legal and record-keeping obligations

Your ID number

The identification number you provide is stored with your booking record. It is used only to verify your identity and to prepare the rental agreement. It is accessible only to Island Ride staff, and it is never sold or shared for marketing purposes.

If you would prefer not to submit your ID number online, that is absolutely fine — please contact us and you can provide it in person at pickup instead.

How we store & protect it

Your information is stored in our secure booking system. Access is limited to the staff who genuinely need it to manage your rental. We keep your data only for as long as it is needed for your rental and for legal record-keeping, after which it is deleted.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers who help us operate — for example, our email provider, AWS SES, which sends your booking confirmation and status emails — or where we are required to do so by law.

Email communications

We email you a booking receipt and updates about the status of your rental. These messages are transactional (they relate directly to your booking) and are not marketing.

Cookies

This site uses only the essential cookies needed for it to function. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. Just email us at [email protected] and we'll help.
